There’s A Snake In My Boot

In 1995, Pixar Animated Studios released the first instalment in the Toy Story franchise. Animated entirely using computers, the film was a remarkable cinematic feat, and it lived up to its innovative production process with an equally impressive narrative. John Lasseter, who was making his directorial debut, introduced audiences to a unique cast of characters: Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), Mr. Potato Head (Don Rickles), Slinky Dog (Jim Varney), Rex (Wallace Shawn), Hamm (John Ratzenberger), Bo Peep (Annie Potts), and others.

A group of talking toys, these characters took centre stage in an adventure of epic proportions. Leading up to his birthday, Andy (the toys’ owner) receives a special present: a Buzz Lightyear action figure. Later on, Woody and Buzz find themselves separated from Andy, the pair having fallen out of a car at a petrol station. This sets them on a path to return to their owner, encountering the dreaded Sid along the way.

The first film became a critical and commercial success, leading to the creation of further instalments and spin-offs.
