Aerotow or Two Winch Launch Glider Flight

Gliding aircrafts are the ultimate way to fly without an engine. You will experience the total tranquillity of soaring and circling on the thermals, drifting silently on the wind in a dual control glider. After a short briefing from your British Gliding Association instructor, youll be able to climb aboard your glider for an Aerotow or Two Winch launches and begin your unforgettable flight. You'll take the controls during your flight, under expert instruction and if you get hooked, this first lesson counts towards a Glider Pilot's certificate.

What happens on the day?

You will be briefed by your instructor and then its out to the airfield. Your introduction to gliding will often include helping out with various tasks associated with gliding, keeping the log, preparing to launch gliders and such as you wait your turn to fly. Gliding is very much a team effort and this is why it is such a sociable sport. You will then be able to take your 15-30 minute Aerotow flight or your two Winch Launch Gilder flights of 7-10 minutes each (depending on location and subject to weather conditions). This silent and graceful way to fly is what many people do to enjoy seeing the world from a different point of view.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 9 months from the date of issue

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date

Participant guidelines

• Minimum age: 12 (under 18s need parental/guardian consent)
• Maximum height: 6ft 4in
• Maximum weight: 16 stone
• Participants should be in reasonable health and agile enough to climb into the aircraft
• Spectators are welcome to wait at the airfield while you take your flight
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to location

Availability

Dates and times vary dependant on your chosen location, some are open seven days a week and others just two, so please call your chosen centre to find out more.

We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow approximately 1 hour for the whole experience.

What about insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
